When you watch Bobby Hill play percussion,
you know what music is all about.
Born in Ohio, Hill moved to the Denver area
at the age of two. He attended Denver public schools, including Manual High School, before
enlisting in the United States Army.
Tours in Korea, Vietnam and Germany gave Hill
a view of the world. He performed with Funk Inc. in Germany
before leaving the Army in 1971.
He moved on to further hone his clave in Mother's
Finest from 1974 to 1976. As a musician coming of age in the 60s and 70s, he
knows the roots of the BFJ sound.
It's a considerable amount of experience and
worldly sense of the groove that Hill brings to BFJ. We enjoy him not only for his sense
of time and ability to solidify the backline, but also for his great talent at connecting
with the audience and sparking the party up.
"Music is my joy of life, and I thank
God for my talent," Bobby said. We thank him too.
